Summary
Both the TD-G300 Green and the TD-G350 Red have boost potential of +30ps, however the TD-G350 Red will do this more efficiently at the higher boost level with a small sacrifice of bottom-end boost of 100-200rpm. This small sacrifice also equates to an increase in power at the same fuel delivery. The Bad Boy is a good choice for automatics as the difference in low rpm response will not be noticeable when used with a torque converter. It’s design boost is 28psi and can be operated efficiently from 14 – 35psi. Fitting a boost controller and boost gauge will allow you to increase boost over the preset 22psi.Performance Expectations
Standard the TD42 produces ~280Nm of engine torque and ~55rwkW. With a TD-G350 Red turbo combined with a customised tune of the factory injection pump (while in car), you can expect 430-460nm of engine torque and 95-110rwkW. Installations with a large intercooler, 3” exhaust, custom injection pump and an upgraded air box and feed to turbo have yielded results as high as 230wkW and torque over 850nm at the crankshaft.Supporting Modifications
This TD-G350 Red is available with a round mouth 3.5” entry and 2” exit.Gaskets and oil line fitting we supply with the turbo consist of a JIC 4mm connector for the pressure feed and a ¾” 90 degree hose tail for the outlet drain and a GTurbo Manifold.
